Pitti Uomo—Florence, Italy

 

In September of 1972, a brand new event descended upon the stage of the Italian Fashion scene. Pitti Uomo (Italian for Pitti Man) gathered Italy's best designers of men's fashion for an exhibition of emerging trends. Since then, Pitti Uomo has grown from a showcase of Italian designers to become one of the world's premiere fashion events, showcasing designers from around the globe. Held twice yearly in Florence Italy at the Forteza de Basso, Pitti Uomo serves as a four day event where buyers and media across the world discover next season's trends.

Since 2015, one of the features of Pitti Uomo has been a section titled "Born in the USA" developed in partnership with Liberty Fashion and Lifestyle Fairs. Each season, 21 brands with products designed and produced exclusively in the US are selected to present in a curated selection of men's accessories and fashion. Slightly Alabama was selected as one of the presenting brands. Here we share some of the images from two seasons of our trips to Florence.
